Loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother

Lois Ann Rossi Kenausis passed away peacefully in Watertown April 28, 2018. She was born in Waterbury, Conn., March 31, 1932. Lois’s parents were the late Michael R. Rossi Sr. and Louise Veneri Rossi. Lois is survived by a son, Michael Kenausis, and his wife, Myrna, of Middlebury, Conn.; three grandchildren: Michele of Fairfield, Conn., Ben of Westbrook, Maine, and Hawden of Fairfax, Vt.; a great-granddaughter, Adley, of Westbrook, Maine, as well as several nieces and nephews. Lois also is survived by an estranged son, William R. Kenausis III and his wife, Sharon, of Ellsworth, Maine. She is predeceased by her brother, Michael R. Rossi Jr.; her son Bryan Kenausis; and her husband, William R. Kenausis Jr.

Lois’s education began at Barnyard Grammar School. She graduated from Crosby High School in 1949. Upon graduating from Crosby High, Lois took a position within Chase Brass and Copper in their main administration office. After World War II, Lois met and married her late husband and started her family. Lois’s main joy in her life was her family, and she did everything imaginable to ensure they enjoyed a happy and healthy life. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing and the numerous summer family picnics at her father-in-law’s cottage on Lake Quassapaug. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, creating memories to last them all a lifetime.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Apple Nursing Home in Watertown and especially Dr. Hector Pun for the wonderful care and compassion they provided Lois during her remaining time with us.

Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are being handled by Luddy & Peterson Funeral Home of New Britain, Conn.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude’s Children Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
