Freeze watch Saturday and Sunday nights

A freeze watch is in effect from late Saturday night through Sunday morning and again late Sunday night through Monday morning.

The first freeze of the season is expected Saturday night in Fairfield, New Haven, Middlesex, and New London counties in Connecticut and in parts of New Jersey and New York. A second freeze is expected Sunday night.

  • Locations – The Lower Hudson Valley, parts of Northeast New Jersey, Southern Connecticut and Eastern Long Island.
  • Hazards – Below freezing temperatures.
  • Temperatures – In the upper 20s to around 30.
  • Timing – Saturday night through Sunday morning and again Sunday night through Monday morning.
  • Impacts – Sensitive vegetation may be damaged or killed due to the below-freezing temperatures.

A freeze watch means below freezing temperatures are possible. These conditions could kill crops and other sensitive vegetation.
