Get documents shredded today from 9 am to noon

Shred Day - EcoShred 06-06-15Newtown Savings Bank is having a “Shred Day” today, Saturday, June 6, from 9 a.m. to noon at their Southbury Branch on 685 Main Street South next to the Southbury Green. Donations will be $5 for a small bag and $10 for a large bag. Proceeds will go to support charitable activities in Woodbury, Southbury and Middlebury carried out by the Tribury Rotary Club Foundation Inc. a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization.

The Tribury Rotary Club has been active since 1972 and some of the Club’s accomplishments include donating over $130,000 in student scholarships, hosting the annual art show, sale of over 51,000 dozen roses, sponsoring the Interact Club at Pomperaug High School (Region 15), planting 280 elm trees in the Tribury Area, and provided funding for the local food and fuel banks as well as hurricane relief.

Shredding will be done by Eco Shred of Brookfield, Conn. They specialize in shredding any kind of paper documents including pay stubs, tax records, medical, insurance, and personal records, documents that may contain Social Security numbers, birth dates, mother’s maiden name, financial and bank statements, CDs, DVDs and X-Rays. There is no need to remove paper clips, binder clips or staples.
