Richard M. Bioski obituary

bioski3bioski3bioski3jpegRichard M. Bioski, 72, of Middlebury, husband of Helen (Hendzel) Bioski, passed away Sunday Jan. 4, 2015, at Waterbury Hospital after a brief illness.

Mr. Bioski was born in Waterbury, Conn., Nov. 18, 1942, a son of the late Joseph and Lena (Wolski) Bioski. A lifelong resident of Middlebury, he retired from Lewis Engineering after many years of service as a toolmaker. Richard was a member of the Naugatuck Elks Lodge, Polish American Club, Connecticut Antique Machinery Club and New Hampshire Antique Tractor Club. He was a communicant of St. John Of the Cross Church.

Besides his loving wife of 43 years, he leaves his two daughters, Joan Kirdzik of Bristol and Karen Bioski-Simon of San Francisco, Calif.; his four grandchildren, Erica-Jo and Casey-Lee Kirdzik and Cooper and Mabel Simon; his great-granddaughter Cora-Lee Carroll; several nieces and nephews; and many childhood friends, all whom he loved dearly. He was predeceased by his beloved brother, Joseph Bioski.

Calling hours will be held Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home at 240 N. Main St. in Naugatuck followed by a funeral service at 7 p.m. Burial will be private in Middlebury Cemetery.
