Salvatorico “Ricco” Manna Obituary

manna ASDMr. Salvatorico “Ricco” Manna, 81, of Naugatuck, passed away at Waterbury Hospital Friday, Dec. 5, 2014. He was the widower of Philomena (Sylvestrine) Manna.

Ricco was born in Pozzomaggiore, Sardinia, Sassari, Italy March 29, 1933, a son of the late Paolo and Costantina (Saccu) Manna. He emigrated from Italy in 1953 and settled in Naugatuck. He was the owner of S. Ricco Manna General Contractor for 53 years and was devoted to his work up until his illness. He was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church.

He leaves his brothers, Peter Manna of Naugatuck and Joseph Manna and his wife, Sandy, of Middlebury; nieces Tina Lubus and her husband, Robert, of Watertown and Mary D’Occhio and her husband, Dione, of Thomaston; a nephew, Joseph Manna of Watertown; two great-nephews; and a great-niece.

His funeral will be held Monday, Dec. 8, at 9:45 a.m. from the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home at 240 N. Main St. in Naugatuck to St. Francis of Assisi Church at 318 Church St. in Naugatuck for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery on Cross Street in Naugatuck.
