Police ask for help locating Subway store robber

Surveillance footage of the man suspected of robbing the Subway sandwich shop in Middlebury.

Sunday, Feb. 22, at approximately 7 p.m., Middlebury Police officers responded to the Subway Sandwich Shop at 750 Straits Turnpike in Middlebury on a report of an armed robbery in progress. Upon arrival they were met by the victim, a female employee who informed the officers that a white male in his early twenties with blue eyes and with his face covered by a red bandana entered the store, displayed a handgun and demanded cash. The suspect was approximately 6 feet tall.

The victim turned over the receipts of the evening from the register. Before fleeing in a unknown direction, the suspect apologized. The Middlebury Police Department is asking anyone who may have information to contact them at 203-577-4030. All information will be kept confidential. Officers are working with store managers to obtain a video of the incident.
