Two fundraising events set for Middlebury Dog Park

Saturday, Sept. 13, members of the Middlebury Dog Park Committee were handing out flyers at the Middlebury transfer station to announce their next two fundraisers for a dog park in Middlebury. The first event is participation in the Quassy Amusement Park 5K Run/Walk Saturday, Sept. 27, with registration at 10 a.m. at Quassy Amusement Park. The race starts at noon. The second event is an appearance by psychic spirit medium Lisa Lanno Saturday, Oct. 4, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Middlebury Volunteer Fire Department firehouse at 65 Tucker Hill Road in Middlebury.

The Quassy event is a 5K charity fundraiser that helps participating charities raise money for their causes. Charities receive $10 for each person who registers for the fun run under the charity’s name. Registration is $20 prepaid and $25 on race day. Each participant younger than 21 who registers will get an all-day ride pass for Quassy good for the day of the race. Registrants older than 21 will receive a voucher good for one souvenir glass of beer at the Oktoberfest beer garden. Register online at under “Events,” which is under the “Plan Your Visit” tab. For more information, call Linda at 203-758-2913, ext. 106.

The Lisa Lanno event, “Messages from the Other Side,” will include two hours of spirit connection readings and an “Ask a Psychic Question” segment. A raffle will include a full tarot reading with Lanno, and light refreshments will be served. Tickets are $30 and may be purchased online at under “Events.” For more information, call Beverly at 203-577-2108 or email her at
