On Monday, January 18, 2021, Connecticut state officials said from Thursday, January 14, 2021, at 8:30 p.m. to Sunday, January 17, 2021, at 8:30 p.m., COVID-19 cases in the state rose to 230,125. This is an increase of 6,703 cases over three days.

On Sunday at 8:30 p.m., 1,114 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, an increase of 16 patients, and deaths numbered 6,670, an increase of 76 deaths.

Cumulative cases in Middlebury and abutting towns were: Middlebury – 464 confirmed (+19) and 37 probable (no change), Naugatuck – 2,151 confirmed and 147 probable, Oxford – 552 confirmed and 27 probable, Southbury – 863 confirmed and 61 probable, Woodbury – 394 confirmed and 27 probable, Watertown – 1,437 confirmed and 130 probable, and Waterbury – 10,084 confirmed and 646 probable.
