On Thursday, July 2, 2020, Connecticut state officials said there were 46,646 COVID-19 cases in the state as of Wednesday, July 1, at 8:30 p.m. This is an increase of 74 cases over the 46,572 on Tuesday, June 30, at 8:30 p.m. The total number of cases in Middlebury decreased to 47 (-1).

On Wednesday at 8:30 p.m., 101 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, an increase of 1 patient, and 4,326 people had died, an increase of 2 deaths.

Cases in Middlebury and abutting towns were: Middlebury – 44 confirmed and 3 probable, Naugatuck – 386 confirmed and 9 probable, Oxford – 78 confirmed and 3 probable, Southbury – 194 confirmed and 5 probable, Woodbury – 51 confirmed and 1 probable, Watertown – 145 confirmed and 7 probable, Waterbury – 1,932 confirmed and 89 probable.
