Region 15 schools open today, closing on different schedule

Region 15 schools will dismiss two hours early Monday, Jan. 8., while half-day pre-K and Friends Together are canceled due to snow and/or icy precipitation in our area from about 3 p.m. into the early evening hours.

All Region 15 schools will open at their normal times today, and they will dismiss two hours earlier than their usual dismissal time. This is a different early dismissal schedule than what is listed on the Region 15 website.

• Pomperaug High School will dismiss at 12:05 p.m.
• Middle schools will dismiss at 12:45 p.m.
• Elementary schools will dismiss at 1:40 p.m.

Lunches will be served, and bus drop-off times at the end of the day will be two hours earlier than normal. All after-school and evening activities are canceled.

Half-day pre-K and Friends Together programs are canceled.  Parents of Pre-K and Friends Together students who normally attend a half-day session, either AM or PM, should not send their children out for bus pickup this morning.

Full-day Pre-K students will follow their normal opening and bus pickup times this morning;  they will be dismissed at the elementary dismissal time of 1:40 p.m., and their bus drop-off times at the end of the day will be 2 hours earlier than usual.
