Brass City Ballet (BCB) embarks on its 32nd season with an open house Saturday, Aug. 19, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 1255 Middlebury Road in Middlebury. Free classes will be offered for children ages 3 and older. They include Dance Discovery for ages 3 to 5 (9:45-10:15 a.m.), Ballet 1 and 2 for ages 6 to 8 (10:30-11 a.m.) and ages 8 to 11 (11:45 a.m.-12:15 p.m.), Jazz/Hip-Hop for ages 5 to 10 (11:15 to 11:45 a.m.), and Intermediate Ballet for ages 11 and older (12:30-2 p.m.).

BCB is a nonprofit dance organization that celebrates building strength of character, one step at a time, through the art, technique and joy of dance. It does so through its school, performing company and community outreach. By practicing life skills such as discipline, teamwork, responsibility and perseverance, Brass City Ballet dancers not only learn how to stand on their toes, but also how to stand on their own two feet with strength and resilience.

The doors will be open to register for classes, meet the staff, tour the facilities and enjoy the day. For more information, call 203-598-0186 or visit www.brasscityballet.org.
