Middlebury’s Acting Police Chief Francis Dabbo said Thursday a Sunday, Jan. 31, motor vehicle accident in which a pickup truck traveling down Yale Avenue crashed into a car parked on the street is under investigation. He said about 7:50 p.m. that night, a 2014 Dodge Ram pickup truck driven by Colby Kyle, 30, of Naugatuck collided right front to right front with a 2006 BMW. The impact caused the pickup truck to roll and end up on a lawn, facing the street, in the vicinity of 62 Yale Ave.

Officers Ed Demers and Al Cronin responded to the scene. Demers reported he found the driver outside the vehicle when he arrived. An emergency medical technician was treating Kyle for injuries sustained in the accident, and he was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital. Kyle told Demers he didn’t remember what happened.

Dabbo said once the investigation is complete, which may be as early as next week, full details of the incident will be released.
