Spot checks find underage drinkers

Middlebury Police Chief James Viadero reported that the Middlebury Police Department, working with agents from the State Liquor Control Commission, conducted spot checks of Middlebury establishments licensed to sell liquor Friday, Feb. 27, 2015. As a result, they found two infractions for underage drinking at Maggie McFly’s on Straits Turnpike.

The Commission will follow up on the violation with the permittee of the establishment. Other establishments visited were in compliance at the time of the visits. This is a cooperative effort between state and local authorities aimed at insuring that establishments comply with the conditions of their permit.

It is anticipated that follow-up checks will be conducted in the near future.
